Honest answer: more for style, layering, and club identity than for crash protection. A vest covers less than 15% of your upper body and has no sleeves — the abrasion math just isn't there. If you want serious protection, look at our armored denim motorcycle jackets instead. Vests work as a layer over a jacket on cold days, as a patch canvas for club affiliation, and for hot-weather riding where you'd otherwise wear a t-shirt anyway.

Same garment, different name. "Cut" is what motorcycle club members traditionally call their vest — often denim with the sleeves cut off (originally from a jean jacket). Today, vests and cuts are interchangeable terms.

That's the most common use — vest over a t-shirt, sun cover on the shoulders, breathability everywhere else. The denim weight gives some wind protection at highway speed without trapping heat. Pair with our breathable Kevlar riding jeans for a full summer kit.

Most of our vests are 12–14 oz denim — heavy enough to hold patch weight without sagging, structured enough to keep its shape, light enough for daily wear. The black denim runs slightly heavier than the indigo.
